Destination to Jannah

Juz 23  Juz 23 consists of the rest of Surah Yasin, Surah Saffat, Surah Sad, and a part of Surah Zumar. As we progress through the Quran, it speaks less specifically of the people of the past like the people of Thamud and the people of Ad although mentioning the people of old. This juz speaks of the people of old, hell, paradise, Adam, creation, believers, disbelievers, and the Day of Judgment.

The story continues, Allah destroyed those people in one blow. There never came a messenger to them that they did not mock. Did they not see how many generations before them were destroyed? Every one of them will be brought before Allah. Allah placed signs among earth: the dead land, gardens to eat from, the creation in pairs, the night, the day, the sun running on a fixed course, the moon, both (the moon and sun) running in orbit, and the people of Noah who denied the ayahs being drowned. And on that day, the trumpet will be blown and we will come quickly to our Lord, in a single blow. On this day, every person will be recompensed for only what they have done and the dwellers of paradise will be busy in joyful things.(36:28-59)

Did Allah not ordain for the children of Adam to worship satan and that they worship Allah alone? Satan lead many of people astray, making hell their destination. And he whom Allah grants a long life, they are reversed in creation (get old), will they not then understand? Muhammad (sws) has not been taught poetry but he and the Quran are only a reminder and warner. Yet, they have taken besides Allah, the one who created them? Is it not Allah who created the heavens and earth, able to create like them? When Allah intends a thing, he only says, “Be and it is”. Allah is above all that they associate and to him we shall return.(36:60-83)

Surah As-Saffat begins.

Allah swears by the angels who are arranged in rows, who drive the clouds, and bring the Quran from Allah to mankind, Allah is one. He is the Lord of the heavens and earth and everything in between.  The disbelievers pay no attention and when they see the ayahs of Allah they mock them, claiming it to be magic. Surely, they will be resurrected. The trumpet will be sounded with one blow, and the day of recompense will begin. Those who did wrong will be dragged to hell and they will share the torment of those they misled. They will not be requited except for that which they used to do. And for the believers, they will be given gardens of delight with provisions of every sort and amount. Among the people of Jannah, will be an individual who will look for his companion and find him in hell. Verily, that companion nearly ruined him and had it not been for the grace of his lord, he would have been with him. Is Paradise not better than the tree of Zaqqun? Those who disbelieved, found their fathers on the wrong path and followed in their footsteps. Allah sent among them messengers warning them and we have seen the end of those who were warned except those who believed. (37:1-74)

Noah was rescued from the destruction of his people and Allah made generations come after him. Among those who followed Noah’s way was Abraham. He come to his lord with a pure heart like Noah. He questioned the belief of his father, how could they believe in that which could not answer them and what they have carved themselves? Abraham was guided by Allah and was tested with the sacrifice of his son, but Allah had him slaughter a ram instead. Allah rewards the Muhsinun and Abraham was left as a remembrance for many generations to come. Allah blessed him with Isaac and of their progeny are some who do right and many who do wrong. And Allah gave glad tidings to Moses and Aaron, saved them from distress, gave them a clear scripture and guided them to the straight path. And Allah left them as a remembrance for many generations to come.  Elias was one of the messengers, who came to his people telling them about Allah but they denied and were destroyed except those who believed. And he was left as a remembrance for generations to come. Lot was one of the messengers who was saved from the destruction of his people. Will you not reflect? Jonah was one of the messengers who was swallowed by a fish and then was cast forth, and his people were saved from the torment, given an enjoyment for a while. Now ask those who  say there are daughters for your lord and sons for them? This is falsehood, Allah has not begotten any offspring! Tell them, to bring their book if they are truthful. Glorified by Allah from what they attribute unto him! The men of old are as a reminder to us all. Glorified is Allah, the Lord of honor and power and all the praise and thanks be to him. (37:7-182)

Surah Sad begins.

Sad. The Quran is full of reminding and those who disbelieve are in false pride and opposition. How many generations have we destroyed before them? A warner has come to them (Muhammad (sws)) but they deny, claiming him to be a liar. But they will be defeated as the people of old who belied the prophets (the people of Noah, Ad, Pharaoh, Thamud, people of Lot and the people who lives in the woods). They all belied the messengers and their torment was justified.  Be patient with the disbelievers and remember our slave David, who was very powerful with a massive kingdom and who Allah gave wisdom, and sound judgment and speech. He was placed as a successor on earth and those who wander astray, have a severe torment because they forget the day of judgment. (38:1-26)

The heavens and earth have not been created without reason. Should those who believe and those who disbelieve be treated the same? The Quran has been sent down, full of blessings in order that we may ponder over its verses and so that we may remember. David was given Solomon who was an excellent slave of Allah, given the power of the wind and control over the jinn. Solomon was tried with throne but returned to Allah with obedience and repentance. Solomon was near to Allah and will be given a good return. Remember Job who was touched with distress and called out to Allah. Allah gave him a spring and his family as a mercy. He was an excellent slave, always turning in repentance. Remember Allah’s slaves: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl, who are among the best. This is a reminder and the pious will be given everlasting gardens with an abundance of drinks and chaste partners. And for the disbelievers, they will be given hell where they will burn and drink boiling body fluids. This is the truth of the Day of recompense.(38:27-64)

Muhammad (sws) was only a warner of Allah who was inspired and there is no god but God, the lord of the heavens and earth. Remembers when Allah said that he was going to create man from clay and the all the angels prostrated themselves but Iblis who was proud  disbeliever. He thought that he was better because he was created from fire and Adam was created from clay. So Allah cast him from heaven, placed a curse  on him till the Day of Judgment, and Iblis promised to mislead every individual except the true believers in Allah. Hell will be filled with those who worshipped Iblis. The Quran is only a reminder for the Alamin(mankind and Jinn) and the truth will soon be revealed. (38:65-88)

Surah Az-Zumar begins.

The Quran is from Allah and it has been sent down to Muhammad (sws) in truth. Islam is for Allah alone and those who take other protectors besides him, Allah will judge between them concerning where they differed. If Allah took a son, he could have but he is above this; He is Allah, the one, the irresistible. He created the heavens and each, created Adam, his wife, and created the rest of mankind from the wombs of their mothers. La ilaha illa Huwa, how then do you turn away? Allah is not in need of you, to him you will return and you will be judged but what you used to do. When hurt touches man, he cries to his lord but when he is good befalls him, he forgets that which he cries for and sets up rivals with Allah. Are those who know equal with those who do not?  Good is the reward for those who do good in this world and only those who was patient will receive their rewards in full without reckoning. (39:1-10)

Muhammad (sws) was commanded to worship Allah by obeying him and doing religious deeds sincerely for Allah’s sake. He only worshipped Allah and Allah alone. They can worship what they like besides Allah but they will have the coverings of fire on the Day of resurrection. Those who avoid false deities by not worshipping them, turn to Allah in repentance, who listen to the word, and follow the best thereof, they will be given glad tiding and are men of understanding. Allah has sent the best statement, a book of truth which shakes the skins and opens the hearts of the believers. Allah has put forth men in the Quran of every similitude in order for us to avoid evil like those who belied the ayahs and were destroyed. Are those who worship Allah alone and many gods similar?  All praise and thanks are due to Allah. And like they dispute here, on the Day of Judgment, they will be disputing in front of Allah. (39:11-31)

Surah As-Saffat begins.
