The credibility of the religion of Islam contrasted with all other divine religions of the past is the aspect of authenticity and reliability. In the religion of Islam every aspect has been accurately and precisely preserved with its minutest details from the very inception of wahi (revelation) up to this day.
Fourteen centuries have gone by, yet we find that the Holy Qur’an still stands up to this day in its original form untouched. Let alone a verse of the Qur’an, not even a single letter has been distorted or changed. Its preservation is not limited to the scrolls and pages; instead it has found its place in the recesses of the hearts of even little children of this ummah. Similarly the Mubaarak Ahaadith of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) – which in reality is the commentary of the Qur’an Shareef – up to this day exist in the thousands, with sound authentic chains joining up to Hazrat Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam).
How can it not be so, when Allah Ta’ala himself had taken the divine onus and responsibility of protecting and preserving the Shari’ah of Islam till the end of time? Allah Ta’ala states:
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ ﴿الحجر: ٩﴾
“Indeed, We are the Ones who have sent down the Zikr (the Qur’aan), and We will surely protect it.” (Surah Al-Hijr, Aayah 9)
