“The Night Comer.”

The content of this piece is the 86th Surah in the Quran, At-Tariq, which in English means “The Night Comer.” 

This is possibly my favourite Surah, because of its brooding and mysterious nature. The pattern is created using only the text from this Surah, written in the Diwani Jali script. 

Verses 1-7 (numbered in the text with the Eastern Arabic Numerals) are written along the top and bottom. Verses 8-14 are written in the outer ring, 15 and 16 in the inner ring. The final verse, verse 17, is written in the center circle.
